Wedding videography at Happy Valley Norfolk
Hello, I'm Joce, a UK and Destination Wedding Videographer. I currently live in Manchester, but always travel up and down the country to capture my couples' love story, including Norfolk and Suffolk. I'm a cinematic wedding videographer, so I feel strongly that your wedding film needs to tell the story of the day, and incorporate elements of the location. At Happy Valley Norfolk, my ethos truly comes to life.
From the moment you enter the secluded gates of Happy Valley Norfolk, you know this is going to be a magical place. Fairy lights, wooden signposts, and a tree-lined pathway, it feels like a Pinterest board, but in real life! Tucked away in the heart of Norfolk, Happy Valley is like a secret garden and it's obvious that the venue is committed to preserving the natural habitat. The result is an ethereal backdrop where ancient oaks and flora create a tapestry of unrivalled beauty, aligning with the venue's dedication to ecological responsibility.
Happy Valley Norfolk is more than just a woodland wedding venue; it's a laid-back, nature-loving, yet sophisticated space. The centrepiece and beating heart of Happy Valley Norfolk, the willow island, it's like nature's amphitheater, where you can say your vows with a backdrop of ancient trees surrounded by the lake. Whether you're planning a cozy ceremony or a full-blown celebration, it really is a blank canvas.
Happy Valley Norfolk is an enchanted place, and works perfectly for my style of cinematography. One of the unique features of cinematic wedding videography is to seamlessly integrate the natural surroundings into the narrative, which I feel really strongly about. I always aim to incorporate the surroundings into the end-product, as I believe your wedding film needs to tell the story of 'how' and 'where' you got married. It always starts with you, but the location plays a fundamental role in my style of filmmaking.
Katy and James’ day at Happy Valley Norfolk
I visited Happy Valley Norfolk many years ago, for the wedding of one of my best friends, but never had the chance to film a wedding there until Katy and James reached out. So I was really familiar with the venue, even before arriving on the day.
Katy and James both live in London, and their wedding is one of the most powerful love story I've been able to capture. Happy Valley Norfolk was genuinely the perfect setting for their wedding, as Katy planned a boho, whimsical and rustic day for their celebrations. This was a really intimate day, and Katy and James both value family, and friendship. The opening scenes of their film draws you into the magical woodlands, and James' speech about Katy and loyalty instantly set the scenes for their heartfelt celebrations. Loyalty is essential to them, so it was no surprise that the guest list included lifelong friends. James' brothers were his groomsmen, and delivered stunning speeches about what James is like as a brother, and how much he means not only to them both, but to their group of friends.
The couple chose an outdoor ceremony, with guests seating under an island of trees. James was so emotional, and his feelings got the better of him as he saw Katy walk down the aisle. A beautiful moment captured on camera, just before they said 'I do'.
They had planned all sorts of fun activities for their guests to enjoy after the wedding ceremony, which gave the venue a fun-fair and carnival vibe. They hired amusement attractions such as a popcorn machine, or 'ball in a bucket and cork shooting stalls. They made use of both barns throughout the day, the Dutch Barn for wedding breakfast, and Hay Barn for evening celebrations. Both beautiful spaces, and the perfect size to welcome their 80+ guests.
Their wedding film is about family and friendship, and incorporates the stunning location that is Happy Valley Norfolk. It encompasses what makes their relationship so unique, and it's easy to see why they decided to tie the knot there.
