Wedding videography is all about capturing the essence of your big day, and for a bride and groom, they see their wedding as a an expression of their couple story. We all love a good film, so why not plan a movie themed wedding reception? Some of the most popular movies translate really well to a movie themed wedding reception: a Harry Potter wedding theme, or a Disney movie themed wedding. What’s not to like!

Eleanor and Jake’s Star Wars themed wedding at Rainhill Hall

Yes, you read that right: A Star Wars themed wedding. When it comes to cinema inspired weddings, I think this one tops the list.

If you’re looking for movie themed wedding ideas, here’s what Eleanor and Jake planned for theirs:

Storm troopers. Check. Eleanor and Jake had hired the services of Imperial Icons, who specialise in Star Wars themed events. The storm troopers were definitely the star attraction of the day, perfect for a movie themed wedding reception.
Millennium Falcon. Check. This was a great movie themed wedding idea, as Jake’s pin badge was designed in the shape of the starship.
Lightsabers. Check. Before the evening party started, Eleanor and Jake handed out plastic lightsabers to all their guests. They illuminated the dance floor for the rest of the night.
Star Wars theme song. Check. After their cinema themed wedding reception, the happy couple entered the dance floor with the iconic soundtrack.

Honestly, do I need to keep going?

The day was filled with so much laughter, and their wedding film captures exactly their day as it happened. With that extra touch of cinema sprinkled over it.
